Breathing New Life into a Derby Jacobean House with Meticulous Painting Techniques
Our recent project in Derby involved the careful restoration of a beautiful Jacobean house. We utilized our expertise and attention to detail to revive select rooms, enhancing the home's historic charm.
Preparing the MDF Walls The walls in this project featured MDF boards, which required special preparation. We began by caulking the corners, followed by sanding to ensure a smooth and even surface. Once prepared, we spot primed the walls to create a solid foundation for the final coat of paint.
Painting the Walls With the MDF walls expertly prepared, we applied the final coat of paint. This step not only added a fresh touch to the rooms but also accentuated the house's classic architectural elements.
Restoring the Woodwork To complete the project, we focused on restoring the home's original woodwork. We began by sanding the surface to create a matte finish, making it ready for painting. Next, we filled any cavities with wood filler, ensuring a seamless appearance.
Sealing and Painting the Wood We then caulked the gaps between the skirting and the wall, as well as between the architrave and the wall. After sanding the surfaces once more, we primed and painted the woodwork, creating a stunning contrast with the freshly painted walls.
A Beautifully Restored Home With our careful preparation and expert painting techniques, the Derby Jacobean house now boasts a refreshed and elegant interior that preserves its historic charm.
